Summary
Undisciplined Desire: Exodus 20:17
Detail
Sermon Notes:
The Tenth Commandment reflects the biblical picture of the very nature of sin and what it is.
- Unrestricted and undisciplined desire underlies every sin we can commit.
- Breaking the Tenth Commandment inevitably leads to breaking others.
- The powerful are prone to coveting.
- Coveting happens in community.
- The Tenth Commandment is like an alarm system: when we covet, we know something is wrong.
- Undisciplined desires do not care about boundaries, morality, tomorrow or God.
Ask the question: "What do I not believe about God?"
